At just 16mm thickness, this is one of the slimmest retrofit modules available in India. It fits inside standard switch boxes — whether your home uses Roma-type, Vihan-type, or any other common Indian switchboard format. The module sits flat behind the switch plate with room to spare for wiring.
16A Relay Capacity Per Channel
Every switch channel is rated at 16A — handling heavy appliances like air conditioners (1.5-ton draws 7–10A), geysers, water pumps, and washing machines directly. No external contactor needed for most residential appliances. The HD+ variant takes this further with a 25A relay supporting loads up to 3000W — designed for instant geysers and 2-ton ACs.
Isolated Power Supply (SMPS)
Unlike cheaper smart switches using capacitor-based power supplies, Low Profile modules use an isolated SMPS design. Input and output circuits are electrically separated. Practical benefit: reduced electrical noise, better LED load performance, and if you ever touch the output terminal, the isolation prevents shock. Critical in Indian homes where earthing quality varies.

What is a retrofit smart switch and how does it work?
A retrofit smart switch is a WiFi-enabled module that installs behind your existing switchboard — inside the switch box, behind the front plate. It connects to your existing wiring (live, load, neutral) without any new wires. Your physical switches keep working as before, but now also respond to app control, voice commands, schedules, and automations. Beakn’s Low Profile Retrofit is 16mm thin and installs in 15 minutes.
Will this fit inside my existing switch box?
Yes. At 16mm thickness, it fits inside any standard Indian switch box — Roma, Vihan, Anchor, Legrand, GM, Havells, or any other common format. It installs behind the switch plate without any modification to the switchboard face.
Do I need to change my wiring?
No. The module connects to your existing live, load, and neutral wires. No new wiring is needed. A regular electrician can install it in 16 minutes.
Connectivity
Will my physical switches still work?
Yes. The physical switches work exactly as before — press to turn on, press to turn off. Smart control is added on top. You can use the physical switch, the app, voice commands, or automation — all work simultaneously.
What happens if my WiFi goes down?
The physical switches continue to work normally. If you are on the same local WiFi network, app control also works. Timers and schedules that are already programmed continue to execute locally. Only remote access (controlling from outside your home) requires internet.
Can this handle my 1.5-ton AC?
Yes. The standard Low Profile module has 16A relays rated for 1800W resistive load. A 1.5-ton AC typically draws 7–10A, well within capacity. For 2-ton ACs or instant geysers that draw more than 16A, use the HD+ variant with 25A / 3000W capacity.

The module uses an isolated SMPS power supply — input and output circuits are electrically separated. Even if you touch the output terminal, the isolation prevents shock. Built-in surge protection up to 4KV protects both the module and your appliances from voltage spikes.
What happens during a power outage?
During a power outage, the switch is off — same as a traditional switch. When power returns, the switch restores to its previous state. Built-in surge protection (tested up to 4KV) protects against voltage spikes during power restoration. Active schedules and timers resume automatically.
