You see usage patterns as they happen — not yesterday’s data, not a weekly summary. Pair this with an energy monitor or compatible Beakn switch to capture real-time wattage. Without a monitor, the app uses estimated consumption per switch based on appliance type and running hours.

Three numbers at the top of the Home Page: devices currently ON, devices currently OFF, and devices unreachable. The Unreachable count flags devices that have lost Wi-Fi connectivity — often the first signal of a problem. A father travelling to Mumbai saw 4 devices marked Unreachable at the airport, called home, and discovered the inverter had tripped. Without this view, the issue would have surfaced only when automations failed silently.

Pin your 3–6 most-used scenes to the Home Page for one-tap execution. Good Morning runs the wake-up routine. Movie Mode dims lights, closes curtains, switches on the TV. All OFF shuts down the house before bed. No navigation through menus. The difference between a smart home people use and one that collects dust is the tap count between intent and result.

Your hall light, bedroom fan, and kitchen exhaust — toggled 20+ times daily. Burying them inside Devices → Select Room → Find Switch → Tap means 5 steps for a routine action. Switch Shortcuts place up to 6 most-used switches directly on the Home Page as one-tap tiles. Critical for family adoption — otherwise everyone reverts to wall switches.

IR Blaster remotes for AC, TV, and Set-Top Box pinned directly on the Home Page. No navigation to Remotes tab. Open app → tap AC remote → adjust temperature. Removes the most common friction point for IR-based automation and makes the app usable instead of slow.

An Add Device button on the Home Page launches guided setup for any Beakn product type — switch, plug, sensor, curtain, IR blaster, or energy monitor. Automatic Wi-Fi detection, 2.4 GHz network validation, room assignment, and device category selection all in a single flow. No need to dig through settings menus for every new device.

One tap activates Home Lock, which puts the entire home in security mode. Manual switch presses at the wall trigger intrusion alerts to WhatsApp and the app. Non-essential devices can be configured to auto-switch-off. Enable it when you leave for a trip — full house protection without individually arming every device.

Create unlimited homes under one Beakn account. Home, office, vacation property, parents’ place. Each home has separate device lists, scenes, schedules, and user permissions. The Home Page includes a home-switcher dropdown — change homes instantly without logging out or reconfiguring anything.

A notification bell on the Home Page shows security alerts, device disconnections, automation status, and critical events. Bin, mark as read, or jump directly to the relevant switch or scene. Users control exactly which categories of alerts they receive through Notification Controls in settings.

When sensors are installed — gas, motion, temperature, humidity, door contact — the Home Page displays live readings at the top. Temperature in degrees, humidity percentage, gas sensor status, motion activity. Turns the dashboard into an environmental monitor, not just a control panel.

Lock individual rooms instead of the entire home. The guest room during family visits. The study when kids should be sleeping. The pooja room when out of town. Manual toggle of any switch in a locked room triggers an intrusion alert with the specific switch name, room, and timestamp sent via WhatsApp and app notification.

From the Home Page, tap the room card’s OFF button to shut down every device in that room simultaneously. All lights, fans, plugs, and appliances controlled by Beakn switches turn off together. Useful when leaving a room at night or before departing for the day — no need to individually toggle each device.

Each room appears as a card on the Home Page showing how many devices are active, current sensor readings if any, and whether the room is locked. Green for active, grey for idle, red for alert. A glance across the cards tells you the state of every room in the house.

When internet is down, the app automatically switches to offline mode for basic ON/OFF control. Commands travel directly from phone to switch over the local Wi-Fi network, bypassing cloud servers. Advanced cloud features pause until reconnection, but lights, fans, and plugs continue to respond. Essential for Indian homes where ISP outages are common.

Drag and drop rooms into your preferred order. Put bedroom first if that’s where you’re always heading. Kitchen last if you never use its controls. The default order is alphabetical, but real usage is rarely alphabetical. A dashboard organised by how you actually live saves seconds on every interaction.

Beyond the dropdown, the Home Page header shows the active home name with a chevron. Tap to see all your homes in a list with room counts and last-active timestamps. Switch in under a second. Useful when monitoring a remote property while sitting in another.
