A smart LED driver is a WiFi-controlled electronic control gear that replaces the standard non-smart driver inside your existing LED light fixture and gives you full control of brightness, colour temperature, or RGB colour from your phone. Every Beakn smart LED driver connects directly to your home WiFi (2.4GHz) and the Beakn cloud. There is no hub, bridge, gateway, or coordinator. Each driver is independently connected — if one fails or loses power, the others keep working. This makes the Beakn smart LED driver simpler to deploy than wifi led controller solutions that require a separate gateway. 90VAC–300VAC Wide Input Range

Indian apartment grid voltage routinely fluctuates between 180V and 260V; transformer switching and grid restoration after outages can spike above 280V. Every Beakn smart LED driver accepts input from 90V to 300V AC at 50Hz or 60Hz — no external stabiliser is needed for the driver itself.

Anti-Surge Protection

Built-in surge protection rated up to 4.5kV protects every smart LED driver from voltage spikes caused by lightning, grid switching, and power restoration. Particularly important for upper-floor apartments and standalone houses where grid surges are more frequent.

Auto-Recovery Protections

Short-circuit protection and over-voltage protection on every Beakn smart LED driver. If output is short-circuited (damaged cable) or input voltage exceeds the safe range, the driver shuts down immediately and recovers automatically when power is reset. No fuses to replace, no manual intervention.

How do I know which smart LED driver I need?

Match the driver to the type of light fixture you want to control. Use the Smart COB CCT Driver for COB spot lights and downlights (small ceiling spot lights with a single recessed COB chip). Use the Smart Panel Light Driver for round, square, slim, recessed, or surface-mounted panel lights between 12W and 36W. Use the RGBW Controller for LED strip lights, profile cove lighting, and any RGB or RGBW strip up to 20 metres in length. Each smart LED driver type is purpose-built for its light category.

Do I need to replace my existing light fixtures?

No. You only replace the small driver box, not the light fixture itself. Standard LED fixtures are sold as fixture-plus-driver combos where the driver is a separate component wired to the LED. The Beakn smart LED driver is a direct one-to-one replacement for that standard driver. The fixture, the LED, the diffuser, the housing, and all wiring stay exactly as they are. An electrician completes a swap in under 15 minutes per fixture.

Do I need a hub or gateway for any Beakn smart LED driver?

No. Every Beakn smart LED driver — COB, panel, and RGBW — connects directly to your home WiFi (2.4GHz) and the Beakn cloud. There is no hub, bridge, gateway, or coordinator required. Each driver is independently connected. App control, voice control, and scheduling run without any additional hardware.

Can one smart LED driver control multiple lights?

Each driver controls one fixture — one COB driver controls one COB light, one panel driver controls one panel. The exception is the RGBW Controller, which can control a continuous LED strip up to 20 metres long. To control multiple panels or COBs in one room as a group, install separate smart LED drivers and group them as a Room or Scene in the Beakn app — one tap or one voice command then operates all of them together.

What is the warranty across all three smart LED driver types?

Three years from the date of installation against electrical and firmware defects, applicable to all three smart LED driver types — COB CCT Driver, Panel Light Driver, and RGBW Controller. Warranty covers driver replacement on confirmed defect. It does not cover damage from voltage spikes above the rated 4.5kV anti-surge limit, water ingress, physical damage during installation, or use with incompatible loads.
