Smart IR Blaster App Features

Setup & Compatibility

Setup flow: open the app, select the IR Blaster device, tap Add Remote, choose appliance type (AC, TV, STB, Projector, Audio, Fan, Other), choose brand from the database, choose model if available. Test buttons. Done. Typical AC setup takes under 3 minutes. TV setup under 2. The IR Blaster then handles all remote commands — your physical remote becomes optional.

The Beakn app ships with 90K+ remote profiles per appliance with a million remote database covering all major Indian market brands. For ACs: Daikin, Voltas, LG, Samsung, Hitachi, Blue Star, Lloyd, Mitsubishi, O General, Panasonic, Whirlpool, Godrej. For TVs: Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic, Mi, OnePlus, Vu, TCL, Thomson, Kodak. For STBs: Tata Sky, Airtel, DishTV, D2H, Sun Direct. New brand profiles added through OTA app updates.

If your appliance isn’t in the database (old models, obscure brands, imported devices), Custom IR Learning in the app records signals directly. Point your original remote at the IR Blaster, press each button, and the blaster captures the signal. Each custom remote can have 15+ learned buttons. Useful for legacy ACs, premium imported audio systems, and old DVD players.

One IR Blaster handles multiple appliance types simultaneously through the app. The same blaster in your living room controls the AC, TV, set-top box, projector, media streamers, AV receivers, music systems, and fans. Switch between remote interfaces with a tap. Most rooms need only one IR Blaster; larger rooms with widely separated devices may benefit from two.

Using the ir blaster app Every Day

Pin AC, TV, or STB remotes directly to the Home Page of the app. No navigation to a remotes tab. Tap once, the remote interface loads. Adjust AC temperature while walking into the room. Change TV volume without leaving the dashboard. Reduces tap count for your most common remote operations to 2 instead of 5.

Combine buttons from multiple remotes into a single custom interface in the app. Put the AC’s temperature controls, the TV’s volume, and the STB’s channel buttons on one screen. Your own personalised remote. Useful for media room scenarios where you regularly use 2–3 devices but don’t want to switch between remote screens.

Schedule AC, TV, or any IR-controlled device through the app. Set AC to 24°C at 10:30 PM (sleep temperature), 26°C at 2:00 AM (power saving), 24°C at 6:00 AM (comfort wake-up). TV auto-off at 11:30 PM. All runs on the IR Blaster’s local clock — schedules execute even if internet is down.

Include IR commands inside Beakn scenes via the app. Movie Mode: dim lights, close curtains, turn on TV via IR, set AC to 25°C via IR, turn on speakers via IR, STB to the right channel. One tap runs everything across electrical switches and IR devices. Bedtime scene: TV OFF via IR, AC to sleep temp via IR, lights OFF, Home Lock.

Why IR Automation Matters in Indian Homes

Indian ACs run 8–10 hours during summer. Manually setting the AC to different temperatures through the night (cooler at bedtime, warmer at 2 AM, comfort cooler before waking) is impractical — most families set one temperature and leave it. With a Beakn ir blaster app, the AC automatically transitions through comfort profiles. Based on typical Indian electricity rates, temperature optimisation saves ₹200–₹500/month on a single AC. Second use case: guests forgetting to turn off the AC/TV when leaving rooms. Scene-based IR shutdown at Home Lock eliminates this. Third: grandparents and children who struggle with complex AC remotes — the app’s simplified interface is more accessible.

IR Blaster App — Frequently Asked Questions

Most likely, yes. The Beakn brand database includes 90+ remote profiles per appliance type covering all major Indian market brands — Daikin, Voltas, LG, Samsung, Hitachi, Blue Star, Lloyd, Mitsubishi, O General, Panasonic, Whirlpool, Godrej, and more for ACs. If your brand or specific model isn’t in the database, Custom IR Learning lets you record signals directly from your existing remote.

Yes. One Beakn IR Blaster can handle multiple appliance types simultaneously through the app — AC, TV, set-top box, projector, audio system, and any other IR-controlled device in the same room. Add each device separately through the app, and switch between their remote interfaces with a tap. Most rooms need only one blaster.

Yes. AC temperature scheduling through the app is a core Beakn feature. Set your AC to 24°C thirty minutes before you usually arrive home. On weekdays, schedule it to auto-off at 11 PM. The app handles all commands — no AC firmware changes needed.

Use Custom IR Learning. Point your original AC remote at the IR Blaster, open the app’s Custom Learning flow, and press each button one at a time. The blaster captures each IR signal. Typical AC setup records 15–20 buttons (ON, OFF, temperature up/down, mode selection, fan speed, swing). Works for old legacy ACs, imported devices, and obscure brands.

Yes. Scene-based IR actions in the app let you include any IR command in a scene. Movie Mode: dim lights + close curtains + turn on TV + set AC to 25°C. Good Night: turn off TV + set AC to sleep temp + turn off lights + Home Lock. One tap runs the entire sequence across electrical switches and IR devices simultaneously.

One IR blaster per room with IR-controlled devices. A typical 2BHK with AC in bedroom and TV/STB in living room needs 2 blasters. A 3BHK with 3 ACs plus TV needs 3–4. IR signals don’t pass through walls reliably — a blaster in the hall won’t control the bedroom AC. Check with your Beakn consultant during the free home visit for specific recommendations.
