Beakn Smart IR Blaster (called BEAKN RED) is a compact WiFi-enabled infrared transmitter that replaces all IR remote controls in a room with a single device controlled through the Beakn app or voice commands. With 4 built-in IR LEDs providing 360-degree coverage and a 15–20 metre range, it controls TVs, air conditioners, set-top boxes (Tata Play, Airtel, Dish TV), projectors, media streamers, BLDC fans, AV receivers, soundbars, and any other infrared-controlled appliance.

Remote Database
IR Recording and Temperature Sensor
It includes a built-in IR recorder that learns commands from any remote — including unbranded Chinese products with no cloud database entry — so no appliance is left out. Two variants are available: Smart IR Plus (₹744) for pure IR control, and Sensor Hub (₹744) which adds a built-in NTC temperature sensor for triggering temperature-based automations like auto-adjusting AC or fan speed when room temperature crosses a threshold. Both plug into any USB power outlet (including mobile chargers), connect to WiFi, and work with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Apple Siri Shortcuts. 3-year warranty. No hub required.
Smart IR Blaster
What the IR Blaster Actually Does
Your TV remote is under the sofa cushion. Your AC remote is in the other room. Your set-top box remote has dead batteries. None of that matters anymore.
IR CONTROL
360-Degree IR Coverage — 4 Built-In IR LEDs
Four infrared LEDs positioned to cover a full 360-degree radius. Place the device anywhere in the room — on a shelf, side table, TV console — and it reaches every appliance regardless of direction. No need to point it at the appliance like a handheld remote. The 15–20 metre range (unobstructed line of sight) covers standard Indian living rooms and bedrooms comfortably.
Works with Any Remote from Any Brand
IR Learning / IR Recorder
The built-in IR recorder can learn commands directly from any physical remote control. Point your existing remote at the IR Blaster, press the button, and the command is recorded and stored. This is critical for appliances that do not appear in any cloud database — Chinese-brand ACs, local-brand ceiling fans, older set-top boxes, or custom remotes. If the appliance uses an infrared remote, the IR Blaster can learn and replicate its signals.
Plug into Any Charger
Compact + USB Powered
Dimensions: 44mm × 40mm × 24mm. Smaller than a matchbox. Powered by 5V DC via any USB outlet — a mobile charger, a USB port on your TV, a USB power strip. Maximum power draw is 2W. No separate power adapter included or needed. Use any USB cable and charger you already have.
WiFi
Direct to Cloud, No Hub Needed
Connects to your home 2.4GHz WiFi. No Zigbee hub, no bridge, no gateway. One device, one WiFi connection. Control from anywhere in the world through the Beakn app. If your internet goes down, local control through your home WiFi network continues working.
Voice Control
Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri Shortcuts
“Alexa, set the AC to 24 degrees.” “Hey Google, turn on the TV.” “Hey Siri, movie mode.” The IR Blaster works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa directly. For Apple users, IR commands can be included in Siri Shortcuts — either as individual appliance controls or as part of multi-device scenes that combine IR commands, switch actions, dimming, and curtain control into a single shortcut.

Remote Database
The Beakn app also includes a pre-loaded database of IR codes for common Indian brands and models. For most popular TVs, ACs, and set-top boxes, setup takes under 2 minutes — select the brand, select the model, test the buttons, and you are done. The IR recorder is the fallback for anything not in the database.
Sensor Hub
The Variant With Temperature Sensor
The same device senses the temperature AND sends the command to the appliance. No separate sensor, no separate controller.
Sensor Hub
IR Blaster + Room Temperature Monitoring
The Sensor Hub is an IR Blaster with everything the Smart IR Plus has — 360° coverage, IR learning, WiFi, voice control, scenes — plus a built-in NTC temperature sensor that continuously measures the room’s actual temperature.
Works with Any Remote from Any Brand
Why Temperature Matters for Automation
An AC remote set to 24°C does not mean your room is at 24°C. The AC’s sensor is inside the indoor unit, near the ceiling, where air is warmer. The actual temperature where you sit could be 2–4 degrees different. The Sensor Hub measures temperature at device level — closer to where you actually are in the room.
IR Workflows
Temperature-Triggered Workflows
With real-time room temperature data, you can build automations that respond to actual conditions instead of fixed schedules:
Room crosses 30°C → AC auto-turns ON at 24°C via IR command. No schedule needed — the room decides.
Room drops below 22°C at night → AC mode switches from cool to fan-only via IR command. Prevents over-cooling while sleeping.
Room temperature + time-of-day → BLDC fan speed adjusts via IR. Afternoon heat = speed 5. Evening cool = speed 3. Midnight = speed 1.
Use Cases
Every Beakn IR Blaster includes: pre-loaded IR code database for Indian brands, IR learning/recording for any brand not in the database, scene creation (combine IR + switches + curtains + lights in one tap), routine scheduling (time-based, sunrise/sunset-based, temperature-based with Sensor Hub), voice control (Alexa, Google, Siri Shortcuts), NFC tag triggering, Apple Watch and CarPlay integration via Siri Shortcuts, running history, and offline mode when internet is down.
What Indian Families Actually Use IR Blasters For
All features are free. No subscription. No premium tier.
Setting up the living room for a movie requires 6–8 individual actions: main light off, accent light dimmed, fan speed adjusted, AC on, TV on, set-top box on, curtains closed. One tap on “Movie Mode” does all of it. An NFC tag on the sofa armrest lets you trigger it by tapping your phone — without opening the app. A physical switch on the living room panel can also be assigned to run the scene.
Every night before bed: walk through the house turning off TV, set-top box, adjusting AC, checking kitchen lights. 5–10 individual actions. A bedtime routine at 11 PM handles all of it automatically — TV off, set-top box off, AC to 26°C, living room lights off, bedroom fan to speed 3, night lamp on. Or trigger it with “Hey Siri, I am done for the day.”
The AC is set to 24°C but the room feels cold at 3 AM. With the Sensor Hub, a workflow detects the room has dropped below 22°C and automatically switches the AC to fan-only mode or raises the set temperature to 26°C. No waking up, no reaching for the remote. The room self-regulates.
In Indian summers (March–June), afternoons hit 42–45°C. A routine at 12:30 PM closes all curtains and turns ACs on at 24°C via IR — before peak heat hits. At 5:30 PM, curtains open and ACs adjust to 26°C. The house cools proactively. Closing curtains during afternoon heat reduces AC load by 15–25%.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions — IR Blaster
Hardware
Count the remotes in your living room. TV remote. Set-top box remote. AC remote. Soundbar remote. Fan remote. That is 4–5 remotes for one room. In a 3BHK, you could have 12–15 remotes across the house. Batteries die. Remotes get lost. The IR receivers on appliances age and start needing “point exactly at the sensor” precision.
An IR blaster sits in the room, connects to your WiFi, and sends infrared signals to every appliance in range. Your phone becomes the only remote you need. Voice assistants replace the phone for common commands. And automations remove the need for even that.
“Alexa, turn on the TV” sends the IR power signal to your TV. “Hey Google, set AC to 24 degrees” sends the temperature command to your AC. A scheduled routine at 7 PM turns on the TV, sets it to your preferred news channel, and adjusts the AC to 25 degrees — without anyone touching a remote, phone, or app. A bedtime scene at 11 PM turns the TV off, turns the AC to 26 degrees, and switches the set-top box off. Every night. Automatically.
The Beakn app includes a pre-loaded database of IR codes for most Indian and international AC brands. If your brand or model is not in the database, the built-in IR recorder can learn commands directly from your existing AC remote — point the remote at the IR Blaster, press the button, and the command is stored. This works with any brand, including unbranded or Chinese-manufactured units.
Yes. A single Beakn IR Blaster can control every IR-controlled appliance in the same room — TV, AC, set-top box, fan, soundbar, projector — as long as each appliance is within the 15–20 metre range and has line of sight to the device. For appliances in different rooms, you need one IR Blaster per room since IR signals do not pass through walls.
Both are IR Blasters with identical IR functionality — 4 LEDs, 360° coverage, IR learning, WiFi, voice control, scenes. The Sensor Hub adds a built-in NTC temperature sensor. This lets you create automations triggered by actual room temperature — for example, turning the AC on when the room crosses 30°C, or reducing fan speed when the room drops below 22°C at night. Both are priced at ₹744.
No. The 4 IR LEDs provide 360-degree coverage. Place the IR Blaster anywhere in the room — on a shelf, side table, or TV unit — and it reaches appliances in every direction. It does require a clear line of sight (IR signals do not pass through solid objects), so avoid placing it inside a closed cabinet.
Yes. The Beakn app lets you create scenes and routines that combine IR commands (AC temperature, TV power, fan speed) with smart switch actions (lights, exhaust fans), curtain motor controls, and dimming controls — all triggered by a single tap, voice command, schedule, or NFC tag.
Connectivity
Yes. Offline mode ensures the IR Blaster works over your local WiFi network even when your internet connection is down. Schedules and pre-configured scenes stored on the device continue to execute. Remote access from outside your home requires internet.
The Smart Plug+ (₹819) is a 16A smart plug with a built-in IR blaster — designed to be plugged into a wall socket to control the appliance’s power supply AND send IR commands. The Smart IR Plus (₹744) is a standalone IR blaster powered via USB — it only sends IR commands, it does not control power. Use the Smart Plug+ when you need both power control and IR in one device (typically for ACs). Use the Smart IR Plus when you need IR control for a room with multiple appliances but do not need a 16A plug.
Yes. Any IR command or multi-device scene can be converted into a Siri Shortcut. This means you can trigger IR actions from iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, CarPlay, HomePod, or as part of Apple Focus Mode automations. “Hey Siri, movie mode” can turn on your TV, set your AC, and dim your lights — all through one voice command.
